Mach 9 - Martin Havlat

MACH (mäk): Named after Austrian physicist & philosopher; who studied flight of projectiles, for which his name was given to ratio of speed of an object to local speed of sound.

On October 14, 1947, Chuck Yeager and The Bell X-1 made supersonic flight a reality.
